The Switch seems to get a lot of game releases on the eStore daily. Today saw the launch of Heisting by Qubic Games. The game sees you play as a master thief/criminal who recruits gang members to steal items from museums, jewellery stores and other locations. The gameplay itself is quite simple, hire a henchman to join your gang set out on a mission, and move over to what you want to steal, they will then grab it whilst your character automatically fires at the security guards, and police whilst you make your way to the starting point to steal the item in question. Rinse and repeat whilst the timer allows and then make your escape.

Your task is made easier by unlocking cards, more henchmen, upgrading weapons and increasing your time limit before the alarms go off. When you have stolen everything you then need to defend yourself from the police. This is pretty easy, you head towards them and then back away slowly as you and your gang autofire until they are all dead. Then the level ends with some celebratory confetti and it’s on to the next one.

Every few stages you will also have a few solo missions that you can complete where you have to take out the guards or sneak past lasers and steal all the money and valuables. They are all pretty easy though, and whilst you may fail the first time it will probably be through rushing through and not something the game does.

After you have completed all the stages in the level you will have just one left to complete called Gang Warfare. In this mode, you and your gang of henchmen enter a building to take out a rival gang, steal all their money and take out the gang leader. This is all pretty easy once again but most of your gang members will die during this level, (if not all) meaning that after completing the level you are back to square one with building up your gang once again.

The levelling up, recruiting of henchmen and other things are all done in the starting hub. In this hub, you also unlock a bonus single-player which you can play every 3 minutes which offers the chance to grab some extra cash to use in the game. These seem to be the same 2 layouts each time and don’t offer any real challenge, apart from you will probably try and sneak up and kill the guard the first time just like I did only to find out it didn’t work the same as in the previous normal level I played just seconds prior.

Heisting is a pretty fun game and has launched with a sale price of just £0.89 for a limited time before it changes to £4.49. I have to say that at the sale price, it’s a steal. Whilst it won’t blow you away it will still entertain you sporadically. Heisting gets a pretty solid 6 Dongy thumbs up!

The DLC
Surprisingly there are already 2 lots of DLC on the eStore, each one costs £1.79 here in the UK and has cosmetic skins and weapons to use in the game and some diamonds to upgrade stuff when you get the appropriate cards. Technically though these aren’t needed and I think they are a bit of a waste of money, at least where I am in the game so far, as I am unwilling to pay for them as they don’t extend the game further I guess I won’t know for certain.
